Q. |
Does PCB Wizard 3 link to Bright
Spark and Livewire? |
A. |
Yes. PCB Wizard 3 can open Bright
Spark and Livewire circuit files
and convert them into PCB layouts. |
|
|
Q. |
I already use Crocodile Clips
and PCB Wizard 2. Why should I upgrade to Livewire and
PCB Wizard 3? |
A. |
There’s more components to design
with, better simulation accuracy, wires that don’t break when
you move components, enhanced translation from circuit design
to circuit board and much improved component placement and
automatic
routing. |
|
|
Q. |
Can PCB Wizard 3 simulate? |
A. |
No. For circuit simulation you will
require either Bright Spark, Livewire or
our flagship product Circuit
Wizard. |
|
|
Q. |
Can I use PCB Wizard 3 with my
CAD/CAM machine? |
A. |
PCB Wizard is compatible with most
CAD/CAM machines available in education. You will need to contact
your machine supplier for more information. |
|
|
Q. |
Why does PCB Wizard 3 not support
the latest version of Crocodile Technology? |
A. |
In 2003 we decided to stop working
with Crocodile Clips Limited because it was felt their lack
of progress in the area of electronics was holding us back. |
|
|
Q. |
Can I add my own components or
packages? |
A. |
Yes. PCB Wizard 3.1 and later includes
the ability to create your own components and packages. An
update
to the latest version is available here for
existing PCB Wizard 3 users. |
|
|
Q. |
What is the maximum permitted board
size? |
A. |
The maximum size of board that can be automatically
generated is 10"x10", however there are no limitations
(other than those imposed by your printer) for manually-placed
boards. Also, there are no component or pin limitations in
the software. |
|
|
Q. |
Do you plan to release a Mac
or Linux version? |
A. |
We currently have no plans to port
PCB Wizard to either the Apple OS X or Linux operating systems. |
