How
can I use surface mount components? |
|
Although neither Circuit Wizard nor PCB Wizard
include surface mount components as part of their
libraries, they both allow you to create and add your own surface
mount
components. |
|
Creating custom surface
mount components |
|
For details on how you can create your own components
in Circuit Wizard and PCB Wizard, please see creating
custom components. |
|
In addition to the hints and tips given on the
above linked page, you may also wish to consider the following: |
|
 |
To select a finer
grid, choose from the options that can be found in the
View | Grid/Snap menu.
This includes being able to select a metric grid (many
SMT components are based on a metric grid). |
|
 |
You can
create a surface mount pad by selecting the
rectangle pad
shape
and entering a hole size of 0. At the same time, you
can also choose the appropriate copper layer for the
pad. |
|
 |
Due to their smaller
size, we recommend zooming in more closely to work with
surface mount components than you would normally. |
